ABOUT US
Promised Land Community Church has relatively new beginnings, started in 1998. It was started with just that purpose in mind-to be a "place of new beginnings" for people in the community. It was and is our desire to offer a place of new beginnings for those looking for a new start. We have found that the answers in life are found through a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus.

One thing that makes our church unique to the area is our casual, contemporary worship. Our Worship Team (or praise band) leads us in singing a "new song" to the Lord in a meaningful and reverent way. Likewise, our Pastor leads us through the Scriptures step-by-step in a way that brings the Word to life in an understandable way. And our people are warm, real, and welcoming-no matter your background.

We invite you to come and visit and worship with us this Sunday morning and to "come as you are!" No need to go buy a tie or a suit or new dress.

Where We've Been:

When we first met we had no building of permanence but we had strong determination. Our first Sunday was in the National Guard Armory of Butner. It was exciting, but it was not available every week. We met there several times however. We also met in the American Legion Building and at Creedmoor Elementary School several times. On these Sundays almost every member would bring something since we were "mobile." We had some bringing the children's toys and books, some bringing our greenery (trees & plants), some bringing the sound system, and much more. We would sit up chairs and make do with educational space. It was an exciting time but we were ready to settle down-much like the Children of Israel looking for the Promised Land.

Within two months we found an empty church building-the Smith-Thomas Convention Center in Creedmoor on Brassfield Road. They graciously rented their facility to us but it was only available on Sunday morning, so we made due with mid-week at-home Bible studies. In the mean time, we purchased land on Hwy 56 about one mile down from I-85.

Then we began renting a wonderful building from the Methodist Church in Butner. They generously and graciously rented their educational building to us! We were able to hold mid-week Bible studies and we are so thankful!

Where We Are:

Currently we are meeting at the Creedmoor Elementary School on Sunday mornings and Sunday night. The excitement that we have in being together in this new place is building great momentum for the Kingdom.

Where We Are Going:

With the unique contemporary style and youthfulness of our church backed by the unchanging power of God's inerrant and infallible Word, we plan on impacting our community with the hope that only Jesus can bring through evangelism, discipleship, and the expository preaching of the Bible. As a church plant, we have helped other new churches and will continue but we plan to plant some ourselves. We also are in the process of actively participating in missions through SBC work, through giving, and through going ourselves!

Our desire is to build a strong youth group and children's ministry and offer a variety of rotating Bible studies. It is our desire to build up our member's for the work of the ministry and to use them as they are gifted in the areas where our church need's them.

As far as our building goes, we are praying about breaking ground soon. If you want to have some meaning and purpose in life, come join us at Promised Land! You are valued and we will value you!
